Week 18: Technical Drawing

How do we communicate our ideas? We often used language, but this isn’t always an effective method for communicating design.

Think about this scenario, let’s say I want to build a rocking chair. What do you picture? Is it this?

Technical drawings are a way of more clearly showing our ideas. This helps ourselves and others better understand what we are thinking.

Check out this video to learn the basics.

Try out your skills!

Before you make a technical drawing of your own design, start with something you see. Make sure your drawing includes a top, front, side and isometric view. Then put the original away and try of make a 3D model just using your drawing. Remember, this is a skill and skills take practice. Take your time and try your best. Good Luck!
