Week 16: Origami in Engineering

Did you know that the ancient art of paper folding called origami has become integral to space exploration! Origami's intricate folding techniques have revolutionized space exploration, enabling the development of compact and deployable structures for spacecraft, satellites, and instrumentation. By drawing inspiration from this ancient art form, engineers have devised ingenious solutions to challenges such as packing efficiency and deployment in the vacuum of space.

As mentioned in the video, the Miura fold is named for its inventor, Japanese astrophysicist Kōryō Miura. Try and make this fold by following the video.
